Are You Happy?

My mother-in-law sent an email to the family recently that really resonated with me.  Maybe it was all the Holiday celebrating or the recent changes we’ve made in our business but I am feeling happier than I have in a few years.  However, I have a long way to go to be as happy as I think I should be – and to make others around me happier as well.

Reading, understanding and practicing some of these habits will help me get there I think.

One of the traditions many of us practice when entering a new year is making resolutions.  We resolve to exercise more, eat less, be nicer to others, etc.

One of my resolutions for 2014 is to practice happiness.  Some of the habits recommended are already ones I practice.  For example:  Be considerate, Learn continuously and Be grateful.

Here are some new habits I am planning to implement to help me achieve my resolution in 2014 (I hope some of you reading this will help hold me accountable for these):

1.  Appreciate and Enjoy Life

2.  Be Forgiving

3.  Find time to sit in silence with my own thoughts (meditate)

4.  Love unconditionally

What do you think about these habits?  Do you practice any of them?  Have any others you would add to the list?
